The year, make, model and engine info would help.
The temperature sensor needs Replacing.
Check the shear pin on the flywheel

hmm how do you figure it wants to start, if it wont turn over? next try checking the coil
Check the cars ignition coil and crank sensor. Either of these could be overheating and causing the car to not start until it sits for a while.

Check the timing in the caravan. It sounds like the timing has jumped, and the engine could backfire then not start, and could not even turn over.

If you are trying to conserve gasoline. Drining an Automatic: when the car wont start and you need to move it. In an emergancy where you need to shut off the engine while the car is moving. Or when you want to coast. Driving a Standard: Anytime you start, stop, change gears, want to coast/roll...etc
