The temperature sensor needs

timing belt probably
Check the cars ignition coil and crank sensor. Either of these could be overheating and causing the car to not start until it sits for a while.

my 1992 dodge dakota wont stay running it stalls when driving and takes a few minutes to get started but if i wait it will start

If you are trying to conserve gasoline. Drining an Automatic: when the car wont start and you need to move it. In an emergancy where you need to shut off the engine while the car is moving. Or when you want to coast. Driving a Standard: Anytime you start, stop, change gears, want to coast/roll...etc

Depends on the model. 1500 fuel pump or ignistion switch. If it wont start at all expect the fuel pump. If it is intermittant expect the switch.
it is most likely your fuel pump
it could have locked, welded itself internally due to heat and friction
