It sounds to me like this is the screen saver coming on. When you move or click the mouse the screen saver will go away. If you want to shut off or change the screen saver time out, you can right click on the desktop and select 'properties'. Then select screensaver and here you can change your settings.
it allows you to click on information on the screen
The function of the computer mouse is to navigate. The mouse moves around the pointer on the screen and lets you click into other sights, etc.
Computer MouseThe computer mouse is the part of the computer that you hold onto to move the mouse pointer around on the screen, and to click on the links and buttons on the screen. It is most often placed on a pad next to your keyboard.
Open the control panel on your computer (on my computer for example, it comes up when I click start in the lower left hand corner of the screen). Next click on "mouse" or "mouse properties." There should be a tab for "pointers" that you can click on -- then choose the pointer you want.
This is because the mouse icon on screen is often an arrow, and in computer jargon the user "points" at a part of the screen. Pointing is done by moving the mouse until the tip of the arrow on screen is at the desired place, such as a menu title.
A computer mouse is used to control the pointer on the computer screen. uh well it's pretty obvious what it's for because you couldn't really do much without it and you would have to keep on pressing tab till you get to the box you want!!! oh didn't think of that hey

If you have a mouse, you can right click the mouse and drag the flash drive from the flash drive icon to the computer screen or to a folder on your computer. You can also do copy and paste. If it is an install of a program, you can click on the program that downloads the installation program and tell it where on the computer you want the program installed.
The computer recognizes the click by monitoring the state of the physical button built into the mouse (or trackpad or similar device). When the button is activated (pressed), the operating system is notified of this fact.In the next step, the operating system needs to identify the X and Y coordinates on the screen (and, in case of a multi-screen system, the screen number S) to which the click applies. This is pretty simple: the operating system draws the mouse cursor, so it knows its location at any time. Thus, the location of the mouse cursor at the time of the click allow the computer to recognize the mouse click event. In the next step, the operating system needs to work along the visual items in viewing order to identify which window and which control (button, text area, icon, etc) was hit by this event. Following is a series of software notifications to the affected applications, windows and controls, allowing those to respond to the mouse click as appropriate.
click... when you press the left mouse button (and release it) it's a left-click and when you press the right mouse button (and release it) it's a right-click
