not 100% sure but under the bonnet to the left in a black box with all the other relays
Hi,The relays for the radiator cooling fans are located in the underhood fuse block. There should be a label on the underside of the fuse block cover, but I have included a link (below) to a site that shows the relays. You will have to scroll down a little bit, as that page shows all the fuse block diagrams in the van. I have checked and the layout for all of the 2001-2004 Ventures are the same.Good Luck, Greg
On a 1998 Mercury Tracer, the cooling fan relays are located in an engine compartment box. The compartment box should be labeled 'Cooling Fan 40 amp.'

the cooling fan relays are behind and below the center of the radiator
The fan motor and relays do go bad.
Open the hood. On the passenger side of the car near the windshield there is a black box with a label on top that describes the fuses and relays inside. Take off the cover to this box and use it to find the "COOLING FAN RELAY" as illustrated. (The lid must be rotated 90 degrees to be aligned properly with the fuses/relays underneath.)In the set of four relays (the little box things) on the passenger side of the box the cooling fan relay is the one on the passenger side closest to the windshield.Note: It also has a fan control module, which is located inside the car, behind the glove box lid.
Most relays simply pull out and push back in.
Check the relays and fuses.
