My goldfish is fat and resting a lot at the bottom of the tank is it pregnant or whats wrong with it?

There's a number of things that could cause your goldfish's symptoms (listed from best-worst possible causes): - constipation: caused by overfeeding or improper diet constipation is easliy fixed by fasting the goldfish or by feeding your goldfish plenty of greens such as deshelled green peas (I've also heard of putting 1 teaspoon of epsom salt in your tank for every one gallon of water also helps) -flukes: your goldfish possibly could be suffering from an infestation of flukes(microscopic flatworm) which would explain the bottom-sitting.(almost all goldfish purchased from petstores come with flukes). You can use anyone of the following to treat flukes: "Healthguard" fluke treatment, fluketabs, droncit, formalin, or potassium permangate. -egg impaction: if your goldfish is a female she may be looking fatter because she is filling with eggs and is getting ready to spawn. During this time she may develope an egg impaction which can be life-threatening. In this case there is not much you can do. However surgery performed by a piscine(fish) vet may save her. -internal bacterial infection: this condition matches all of your fishes symptoms. Fish who have internal bacterial infections, or the begining stages of dropsy will sit at the bottom and will become bloated. Usually the medications the petstores sell that you add to the tank water do not work (some may even make your fish worse because the medcine may burn the fish's gills). One easy way to treat an internal bacterial infection is to feed the fish a medicated food (one brand that has worked multiple times on my goldfish is "medi-gold" available at the link posted below).
