My husband has a lump sum coming from work comp but it seems they are dragging their feet. As we are in dire need of the money what can be done to speed this up?

There are somewhat different statutes that apply in different states. One tactic is to call the State Legislator for your district and see if you can gain an ally there. The rules regarding payments for workmen's comp are set down in State Codes, and you can access these online. But the reading is a bit demanding. Get help if you need it in reading and interpreting the law. Or try a professional legal advisor. Many of them give free or low-cost advice for an initial consultation, and a para-legal may be as good as an attorney for this issue, but there are the obvious caveats.
