bad alternator. i had the same problem. My old battery seemed dead so i replaced it with a new one. the new one was fine for a couple of days then the battery charge light came on again. i had the alternator tested it was done for. ...or it could be bad connections or wire. have it tested.
A new battery doesn't mean a good battery. The new battery may be defective. Return it and get a new new one.
get a new battery
the belt probly is not tight enough
Dead Battery. Are you sure your battery can maintain or hold a charge?
usually means the battery simply won't hold charge. and won't charge full stop! get a new one
The most common reason is one of the cells in the battery is bad and the only thing to do is get a new battery
A good auto battery will hold it's charge for at least 6 months or longer.
if its a new battery then you need to replace your alternator. It basically recharges your battery while the vehicle is running.
There is something on that is pulling power from the battery. Any light or any relay that is stuck will drain the battery.
30 year old battery?? I have never heard of a battery lasting this long. This has to be a record of some sort. I would contact the battery manufacture as they may want this battery and give you a new one for it. Anyway if the battery will not hold a charge it has a dead cell and needs to be replaced.
The alternator does not hold a charge. It charges the battery. If it will not charge the battery then either the alternator is defective, battery is defective, or the connections are corroded or loose. You should read 13.5 to 15.5 volts at the battery with the engine idling. Check it with a DC volt meter. If you get less the alternator is defective. If you get much more the voltage regulator is defective.
Probably alternater if the battery is less than 5 years old, may be the battery, may be both, may be neither.
