It could very well be the reason. If you've just recently been diagnosed as having hypothyroidism then I'd say that it probably is why you've missed your period, though I'm not sure on how irregular periods usually are because of it. 2 months seems a long time but as I said I'm not entirely sure how irregular they can be, saying that, I've gone at least a month without having one, sometimes maybe even longer. If you've just recently been put on the medication then I'd imagine things will even out and get back to your normal cycle once the meds have started to take effect and gotten into your system.
