Sodium chloride has a polar molecule.
Any reaction occur.
# Sodium Chloride (NaCl) # Calcium chloride (CaCl2) # Carbon Tetrachloride (CCl4) # Hydrochloric Acid (HCl)
AlCl3 is most effective in lowering the vapor pressure.
1 mole CCl4 = 153.811g CCl4 = 6.022 x 1023 molecules CCl4 567g CCl4 x (6.022 x 1023 molecules CCl4)/153.811g CCl4 = 2.22 x 1024 molecules CCl4
(Chemistry) a type of chemical bond in which one atom loses an electron to form a positive ion and the other atom gains the electron to form a negative ion. The resulting ions are held together by electrostatic attraction Also called ionic bond.example of electrovalent compound is NaCl (Sodium Chloride)
Water molecules, H2O have hydrogen bonding between molecules which means it is a liquid until 100 oC, 212 oF. Carbon tetra chloride/ tetrachloro methane is heavy but boils at 76.8 oC
I want all of u to visualize the experiment i did.I took 2 glasses of water. In glass1 i put a teaspoon of salt(NaCl being electrovalent) and in glass2,i put a teaspoon of glucose(covalent compound). Now it is scientifically proven that salt readily forms ions(Na+ and Cl-) than glucose which takes a long time. This proves the fact that electrovalent(ionic) bonds are weaker than electrovalent. People have a myth that because covalent bonds melt faster, they are weak compared to electrovalent. This is absolutely wrong.Melting is just change in process of a compound not involving breaking of bonds at all. Hence it is clear that Covalent bonds are stronger than Electrovalent bonds. :)
Salts: sodium chloride NaCl, ammonium chloride NH4ClPlastics: polyvinylchloride PVCCleaners: 'tetra' CCl4 methyltetrachloride and 'tri' CHCl3 methyl trichloride
CCl4 is tetrahedral in shape.
What are the similarities of ch4 and ccl4?
Why does CCl4 not conduct electricity?
Yes. CCl4 is the derivative of the hydrocarbon, CH4.
