When Germany invaded France they wanted to get back at France for making them sign in that rail car and then putting it on display and then putting Germany in turmoil for many years to come due to the treaty of Versailles . Hitler had the French surrender in that same rail car when he took over France in the early years of the war, then he had it taken back to Berlin and brought it in parades and showed it off to the public.
