The British Royal Family are more of a 'Tourist Attraction', people from, say, American love seeing HM the Queen, because of the History. Almost all Royal Family members are supreme in the British Army, for instance, HM the Queen, is the Chief Commander. The Queen is Head of State, making her the boss basically and although she remains politically neutral, the British Government is "hers", hence the name HM Government.
