There are also, external hard drives, tape drives, jazz drives, scsi drives, cd's dvd's etc. These devices are primarily used for backing up any important data, which a user / company need.Also as a note to the previous answer, usb pens, vary widely in size from 128Mb up to now, i think its 8Gb.
