A drum switch typically has several possible circuits. You'll need to get a diagram of the switch and learn to read the schematic.
You have a 3 way switch. Your black wire is the hot wire. Your green wire is the ground wire. Your red and white wires go to the light and other switch. You should have gotten a wiring diagram with your switch.
Try replacing your headlight switch, it includes an internal circuit breaker that has possibly gone bad and will not reset any more. On my 89 there is ground wire on body in front of battery. Bad ground connection will keep headlights from working. Could be hi/lo dimmer switch on steering column under dash. Difficult to change without removing steering column. I unplugged switch, plugged in new switch, set new switch on dim, and wired it to column. Since old switch still connected to actuator rod going to turn signal/dimmer handle I only have dim lights but can drive at night.
ignition switch in the steering column is faulty. Car would not start when the car is parked in the sun. Need to remove the steering to get to the switch.
Check the brake light sending switch. It's usually attached to the brake pedal. If that's not it, check the turn signal switch inside the steering column.
The signal light switch is part of the multifunction switch on the steering column.
Inside your steering column , the turn signal lever and hazard flasher button are parts of the multifunction switch that stick out from the steering column
The multifunction switch attaches to the steering column. It contains the turn signals, wipers, headlights, etc....
In the steering wheel column. The hazard toggle switch is connected to it.
On a 2004 Ford F-250 : The multifunction switch is INSIDE the steering wheel column cover ( the turn signal lever and the hazard flasher button sticks out of the steering column cover )
In the steering column, otherwise known as the multifunction switch.
yes
Steering column, it is another name for the turn signal/wiper switch.
On a Ford Taurus : The multifunction switch is INSIDE the steering column cover The turn signal lever and hazard flasher button stick outside of the cover
Remove the plastic shielding from around the steering column, unplug the multifunction switch, remove the bolts used to mount the multifunction switch. Installation is the opposite of reverse
Multifunction Switch. Your probably refurring to the one that opperates the turn signals, it also opperates the wipers, water for the windshild cleaning and dimmer switch for the headlights.
inside the steering column - turn signal lever and hazard flasher button stick out of steering column cover
