I need to replace the starter in a 2003 Tundra, but where is it the starter? I need to replace the starter in a 2003 Tundra, but where is it the starter?
The starter is located under the oil filter. You have to remove the front skid/guard plate because once you have detatch the starter and the oil pressure swith just above the starter(you will see is after you unbolt the starter). The start will have to be pulled out to the front. It'll be tight but it does come out, I just did it. You may need an ignition relay in the process depending on the mew starter.
the senor is located on the front of the engine block right above the starter you need to drop the starter and oil filter to remove the sensor
Do you really need a 5.9 liter? It's burning oil, the piston rings are probably going.
The starter relay is inside the starter. You will need to replace the starter.
Block plugIt is above the starter, you will need to move the starter over then you can see the Allen key bolt head. Undo this and watch out for the flood of coolent!
No, it should be internally lubricated so there is no need to lubricate the starter.
It is behind the starter. You will need to remove starter to get to it. I WOULD CHECK TO SEE IF IT IS NOT IN FRONT OF THE OIL PAN 1ST, BOTTOM OF TIMING CHAIN COVER.. MY 1999 CHEVY TAHOE 5.7 IS LOCATED THERE... EVERYONE TOLD ME ALSO THAT IS WAS ABOVE THE STARTER. AND AFTER TAKING IT OUT . IT WAS NOT THERE;...
When it fails. There is no set time to replace a starter.
You need a new starter
