The firing order of the LS1 is 1-8-7-2-6-5-4-3.

This is different than even the GENII engines.

Soyou get an exhaust cycle something like this: LRLLRLRR (this is pulledfrom two full cycles "LRLRR'LRLLRLRR'LRL") note the double pulses.

Theonly way for GM to get this firing order and keep the engine balancedwas to implement a 360 degree crank. The 360 degree crank only impliesthat the throw angles of the crank occur in the full 360 degrees (of acircle). This is different than a 180 degree crank where the throwsoccur only at the top (0 degrees) and bottom (180 degrees) of thecrank.
