Your motor is thermally protected. This means when it does get hot it will shut off instead of burning up. How old is your pump or motor? If your answer is not very old (1 year or less) Then did you have it replaced with a larger H.P. unit, because that may be your problem If you have had the same pump motor for years without problems then it's probably time to replace it (average life span 6-15 years) depending on maintenance and that it was a quality unit to begin with. The thing to remember is if you have a 1 H.P. pump motor and you replace it with a 1.5 or even a 2 H.P. you must check that your wiring will be sufficient. As long as your moving water well then be less concerned with plumbing.
