Turn the to the RUN position and try to hear the pump running. Be quick because it will shut off when it reaches proper pressure in the line. Can you hear the pump? If yes, check the filter first (it's the least expensive). If no, make the sure pump has power running to it then check the pump.
Check to see if it getting spark/fuel Check rotor
Yes, I clogged fuel filter will prevent fuel from getting to the engine.
start by disconneting the fuel filter on the engine side then turn the key if there is no fuel getting through then it is a clogged filter. if tht is not the problem then your screwed. start by disconneting the fuel filter on the engine side then turn the key if there is no fuel getting through then it is a clogged filter. if tht is not the problem then your screwed.
usually this is caused by glow plugs not getting any power. i am rusty on diesels, so this might not be correct, also check fuel filter and or water seperator filter.
Place to start is to check to see if the engine is getting fuel and if it has spark
There is no fuel getting to the combustion chamber. Things to check: clogged fuel filter; crimped fuel line; carburetor settings; obstruction in fuel tank.
if changing the fuel filter, and it still stalls out. you have a problem with the fuel not getting to engine.
I am assuming that the mower doesn't start.... My first guess would be that you are not getting spark to ignite the gas in the engine. Check to see if you have spark at the spark plug.
check and make sure you are getting spark to coils!!
check the distributor to see if you are getting spark. check for fuel filter clog.
You car's engine needs three things to run...Fuel...Oxygen...Spark. Your engine is not getting one or all of these things, and therefore will not start. Of course you may be getting your engine may be getting some fuel, a little oxygen, and weak spark, and still will not run. Have a mechanic look at your car, could be something simple as a blocked fuel filter. Don't panic, but have a reputable mechanic check things. Hope this helps.
if the starter is TRYING to start the engine check to see if your getting fuel. if it doesn't then check battery connections, starter, fuses. if no fuel check fuses, pump, and filter. if it is simply not firing check plugs, distributor cap and rotor, and plug wires. HOWEVER if it ISN'T turning over, but the starter is turning the motor then check the TIMING BELT.
