Lawn mowers generally use small two-stroke engines, where the lubricating oil is actually mixed with the fuel and "used up" as opposed to the normal system in a four-stroke engine, where the oil is usually captured and recirculated (and therefore periodically needs to be changed).
If you are asking how to change a 4 stroke push lawn mower oil .
1) look under the deck where the blade is you will see a plug some have a 3/8"
square whole that your 38"ratcht driver will fit, some have a nut end plug and some do not have a plug. For the ones with the plug you just take out the plug and drain. Then put plug back in and put 30w oil in threw filler plug.
2)If there is no plug you remove filler cap (did stick) turn the lawnmower upside down and drain into a pail. When drained flip to up right position and refill with oil (30woil)
3) If it is a 2 stroke you mix oil 2cycl in the gas or you put 2cycl oil in injector reservoir tank.
