Low oil pressure on a Cadillac Deville is an indicator low motor oil, a failing oil pump, or clogged passages. Low pressure can lead to excessive wear due to poor oil flow.
It can mean you have low oil pressure and it can mean that the oil sending unit is bad. Do not ignore this and have this checked out by a trusted mechanic.
change the oil pressure senser in the front of the motoer on the bottom just did it on mine
Check oil pressure with a manual gauge. Could just be a bad oil sending unit or low oil presssure due to internal engine wear
wrong category...A deville is a CADILLAC not a LINCOLN TOWN CAR.
Low or no oil pressure.
It means you need to check and add oil
Partially clogged fuel filter or the pump is failing.
Low oil pressure or a faulty sensor. First thing to do is to replace the oil filter with an AC/Delco filter. This is an excellent filter designed for your Cadillac. If that does not solve the problem, replace the oil pressure sending unit. If that does not do it, then an oil pressure test is in order, to determine if the oil pump is faulty. try a heavier grade of oil it worked for me
The AC low side port on a 1999 Cadillac DeVille is against the firewall. It is on the larger of the two hoses going to the AC compressor.
Using 5W-30 oil in summer, my Catera's low oil pressure warning and light will come on when the engine is hot. But with 10W-40 oil this condition will not occur. Oil pressure gauge may indicate low pressure, but not enough to trigger the warning or the light.
possible low refrigerant
under hood, passanger side, under relay panel cover, beneath it, almost next to firewall.
