It doesn't matter what state you live in, If you are over 17 and she is under, it is statutory rape, whether the sex is consentual or not. If Dad found out the two of you ended up having sex at some point, even if you both consented (said yes), it's still statutory rape and he can prosecute you and put you in jail. The only major thing that varies from state to state is jail time for statutory rape. It could be a couple years in jail, it could be 10 or even more. Depends on the severity and age of the girl and the state you live in. If you don't want to end up in jail by an angry Dad, just wait. It doesn't mean you can date someone younger, it only applies to sex
