Ok so the heater core in my 94' caviler is completely fine but the plastic fitting that comes on the stock heater core is broken is there a way to fix just that plastic tube or do i have to replace it?

I just had that happen on my 91 z24. I thought is was the heater core, so I bought a new one. Once I tore the car apart I realized that it was that plastic hose that broke from the pressure in the line...that seems to be a weak spot in the design. The new heater core came with metal hoses so no plastic ones were necessary. I think theyve stopped using them, but if you dont want to spend the money on a new heater core, you could just try a plastic or rubber piece of tubing you might find at a hardware store. Just make sure it is strong and clamp it on the heater core and to the hose tightly and Im sure it will be fine.
