On Maya 8.5 PLE when you press 5 or shade a message pops up on the Maya screen but when you go back to wireframe it goes why?

The shade is called a water mark and it is there to stop people from using the software to make money, due to it being a free trial of a $4,000 product. The reason it its not on the wire frame would probably be that wire frame can't really be used for a movie and you need a more detailed view while in wireframe. Don't worry about it, you stop noticing it after a while.
