On a 1987 acura integra is repairing the alternator a viable option to buy you a little extra time or is it just as costly?

Most of the time it is a lot cheeper to repair then replace. It could be as simple as a bad set of brushes or a bad diod. But repairing it is always cheeper then a replacement. Look in the yellow pages under alternator repair and rebuilding.Take it to them and thy can repair it.
