On a 1995 Lincoln Mark 8.Why can't I shut the radio off The volume knob is a PUSH to turn ON. PUSH AGAIN TURNS OFF. It stays on when I re push the knob. When I open the door it goes off as it should.?

The 'off' control is very sensitive. If you are brave enough to tackle the problem, I would suggest you remove the radio and clean the contact for the 'on-off' switch. Most electrical contacts are copper based and therefore subject to forming a 'patina' (an oxide or carbonate 'film') when exposed to air (an oxygen atmosphere).
If you do not have the mechanical ability to perform this task, I highly recommend you let someone of whom is profient in mechanical aptitude to do the work. It's not brain surgery, but it does require a certain degree of mechanical aptitude.
