On a 2002 Kia Sedona got a 456 code which means a loose gas cap Had replaced a locking cap with original a week before the check engine light came on Cap seems tight why won't the light go out?

well u might of fix the problem but u did not erase the code from the on board computer. do do so you can buy a obd 2 scanner or go to your local garage and get them to erase it.

Our 2007 Sorento bought July 2007, went until now (04/2010) with an after market locking gas cap . It is now showing code 456. Replaced with original gas cap and code went away.
When we bought the vehicle the parts manager said the Kias were sensitive to locking gas caps.
Guess we were lucky to get a couple of years
