theres a couple of different possibilities. First try the obvious take the car out of park and then put it back into park making sure you push it all the way up into park. Next try putting the car in neutral and seeing if it will start. You could have a bad neutral safety switch...
Answer #2 Its the resistor chips on your keys(the little black squares). If the resistor chips are wet or damaged the car shuts off the fuel systems and the starter. If the keys havent been damaged then most likely the key ignition lock that reads the code on the chips is probably screwed up. IT cost about $400 to get fixed at the dealership.
Same thing happened to me.
one to the batery one to the ignition posibly one to aldinator
i replaced the ignition coil and the starter but the batery is dead but wen i went to start it the oil was shooting out of the carborator.
check for a full 12 volts at the batery and then at the starter. then check fuses then the starter its self and the last thing check the ignition switch
There could be so many problems. Batery, starter, alternator, serpentine belt, no spark... the list is endless. spark plugs? spark plugs?
Disconnect the - batery terminal Raise and support vehicle Disconnect wiring harness at top of starter Remove mounting bolts Drop starter
Disconnect - batery terminal Lift and safely secure vehicle Disconnect wiring harness at top of starter Remove mounting bolts Drop starter
First make sure it is the starter that is at fault. Then take the neg battery cable loose at the batery. Then take off the wiring then the bolts holding it on and work it out.
I think....Pull the ignition fuse for 30 seconds or disconect the batery terminal for approx 1 min. This re-sets the computer
Look at the lower rear end of the engine
1. Battery is weak2. Battery posts are dirty and not allowing good connection3. Wires are not in good condition4. Bad ground to engine from battery5. Wire not tight on starter6. Solenoid is defective (on fords and other cars with separate solenoids)7. Defective starter (even new ones can be. I bought a bad one in Sept.)
