Re-check your intake gasket. it maybe damage or leaking.

Not sure what an XTL is, but usually when spark plugs are under an intake you should remove the intake to replace them. Don't forget to buy a new intake manifold gasket BEFORE you take the car apart.
remove the intake up to the throttle body. after that you should be able to see the coils on the drivers side of the engine. remove the bolt and replace. don't mix the ignition wires.

You have to remove the upper intake to even get to the fuel rail. make sure you have all the o-rings seals and gaskets in between cause you should replace them. Really its worth it to take the car to a mechanic.
