Respiration in itself is a kind of reflex; we do it involuntarily. However, it can be impeded with different oxygen concentrations in the air, drugs, and other reflexes like sneezing, burping, or coughing.

Reflexes can be either unconditional or conditional. Conditional, also referred to as 'Pavlovian', reflexes are those that we can develop. They are weak in humans, but can be observed more readily in other organisms. For more information on these, research Pavlov's dog. Unconditional reflexes are those which are innate - we're born with them. Neurologically speaking these typically do not have any nerves passing through the brain, unlike conditional reflexes in which neurons pass through higher cortical areas of the brain. An example of an unconditional reflex in humans is beginning to salivate when we smell something yummy. This is down to our olfactory tracts, which contain receptors which will stimulate a reflex resulting in secretion from the salivary glands.
All living things have reflexes. If you get something in your eye, you blink. That's a reflex. If you get hit on the nerve in your knee, you leg jumps. It's part of being alive. Doctors test babies' reflexes to determine if they are neurologically normal.

The Human Reflex Physiology Review Sheet states that "Conversely, other reflexes require the involvement of the brain, since many different inputs must be evaluated before the appropriate reflex is determined. Superficial cord reflexes and pupillary responses to light are in this category" (p. 342).

Primitive culture refers to a society that does not have development or sophistication for example a hunter-gather society. Non-primitive culture on the other hand is a society that has technological, cultural or economic development like the industrial capitalist society.
Cotton by far is the best material to use for a newborn. Cotton is softer then other cloths and they are easy to clean and reduce a lot of rashes on newborn.
Newborn rats can be bottle fed with KMR, a kitten replacement formula.

Primitive refers to base types, like int and char. Classes are complex types, combining primitives with other classes or structures, and are therefore non-primitive.
