All 1.8 liter engines produced by Kia had the same horsepower output, depending on what transmission you are running. the manual transmission models have the most horsepower
All kia engines are intereference engines kia will not confirm but it is true
All Kia engines are intereference engines kia will not confirm but it is true
All I know is there is a Hyudai Kia engine plant in Montgomery Alabama. A car salesmat told me their engines were made by Honda..but it seems to me, that at most, there may have been a collaboration if anything.Mazda did make some of their engines prior to 1998. Now all Kia engines are built in house by Kia. The salesman was lying to you. Honda does not and never has built engines for Kia. Honda has built engines for Saturn.
yes if it's a dohc
The models have different engines, but their horsepower is all above 500.
Jet engines produce thrust. All others produce horsepower.
The exact type of engine differs between the various models. They are all 5.0L V8 engines. In each model of car the amount of horsepower changes between the sub-models with the more expensive and function loaded cars having the most horsepower. The horsepower ranges from 385 to a supercharged 510.
joint venture between Kia mtrs. and Hundyia All Kia engines are in house. They design them, they build them. Hyundai has little if no input whatsoever. Kia used to use engines from Rover and parts from Mazda but no longer thankfully i respectfully disagree , just pulled apart a Kia 2009 v6 ,has Hyundai stamped on the crankshaft , will send jpeg image if you want . the Kia and Hyundai plant is the same one. Kia is building its own plant in southwest Ga. to start making engines here in U.S., but they will also be used in Hyundai autos assembled in U.S... Kia Mtrs. of America.
Generally speaking the larger number of CC's you have in an engine , the greater the horsepower will be. Most North American Engines used to all be rated in Cubic inches now we rate them in Cubic Centimeters.
The sohc engines were, the dohc engines are not the above info is wrong ,DOHC is an interference engine on Kia sportages ,i rebuild them all the time, please replace timing belts when specified, damage can be tremendous.
Horsepower is calculated from RPM and torque. The higher the RPM you can sustain an engines torque at, the higher the Horsepower. Horsepower and Torque are always the same amount at 5250 RPM with all but diesel powered engines. Also the more rotational mass you can spin at a higher rpm, the more energy it poseses.
No they are all interference engines , sorry . from 1995 thru 2002 models.
