I've been told by a Renault machanic that this problem is caused by a control unit behind the interior fuse box known among Renault people as an UC bic. This must be done by a Renault garage as the unit is coded. However a friend of mine took out the battery and cleaned the fuses and surrounds which were in behind and all electrics worked again!
Yes
I had to go to the Renault dealer. You cannot disconnect the immobilizer completely even if it a pain.
No you cannot. You need to take it to a dealer or a garage with a scanning tool so the immobilizer can be altered electronically
Hi how I can bypass or cut of immobilizer for renalt clio 1998 1.2 8v 59hp imobilaizers is in main block ecu
The engine immobilizer key switch is situated within the glove compartment. where in the glove compartment? there is only the light fixture.
The key is faulty or the immobilizer will not accept the code. remove the battery for 30 mins to allow the system to reset.
I also need to bypass the immobilizer on my Laguna. The central lock button on my 1996 Renault laguna doesn't work (open locks) and also the immobilizer light mounted on it is off. Nevertheless, there is power to the button. This led me to believe that there are no signals to or from the control box. Can anyone tell me where the central control box is located?
Scenics suffered from leaking sunroof which damaged the reicever for the C/L and immob in the interior mirror. Chech to make sure its not full of water. Apart from that you are stuck with a very poor quality immobilizer from Renault. If its any conselation, there are loads of Renault drivers in same position. Hope this helps.
It will have to go to a garage with the correct equipment to have it reprogrammed, its not possible to do this at home.Hope this helps
left hand side of the car, under glove box
Its located next to the courtesy light in the roof, its under the black dome at the front.
A cheap renault laguna is an inexpensive used car. It comes in both a sedan and hatchback model. One can be purchased for under 1000.00 pounds in the UK
