What does the check engine light code 31 mean on a 1997 Dodge Stratus and how can I fix it?

These are the options for code 31. You need to have it checked with a scanner, If you know the "P" number you will know what to check. The old two digit codes are not specific enough. What is the code p1486 for Honda accord 2000?

The code corresponds to "Cooling System Malfunction". Autozone recommends checking the thermostat and coolant levels. According to at least one member of the Honda-Acura.net forums, it's an issue with a the coolant temperature sensor. 6th Gen Hondas also have an issue with faulty ECMs. According to another member of the forum above, the car's ECM should be under warranty for 8 years or 80k miles. Call the numbers on the back of your owner's manual to speak with someone from Honda of America. Here's a technical explanation of the problem. "UNDER CERTAIN DRIVING CONDITIONS AFTER A COLD START, THE ECM/PCM CAN MISCALCULATE HOW FAST THE ENGINE COOLANT TEMPERATURE RISES AND SET DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE (DTC) P0128 OR P1486 (COOLING SYSTEM MALFUNCTION). HONDA SERVICENEWS." Finally, it's suggested you reset the malfunction light (and code) by disconnecting the negative battery cable for 10 seconds. Then see if the problem comes back. 1997 dodge stratus diagnostic code 31?

If it is the MIL code you are talking about, my manual shows 31 as being associated with the EVAP system. Problem is that there are many "31" codes for EVAP. What is needed is the scan code. Like P1495 or P1494. All of these scan codes are listed under a "31" MIL code. P0443: EVAP emission control system purge valve C fault. P0441: Insufficient or excessive vapor flow detected. P0442: EVAP emission control system leak (small) P0445: Leak detection monitor is unable to pressurize the system (large leak) P1486: Plug or pinch detected between purge solenoid and fuel tank. P1495: Leak detection pump solenoid circuit fault. P1494: Leak detection pump switch does not respond to input. You can get more info on the scan codes at you local library. Locally here (Seattle), I can access All Data and Chilton via the library. No fee. I assume you have the same. Good luck.

What is engine check code P112 on a 99 Mazda 626lX V6 engine?

It is the intake air temp is low. The sensor that is in the air intake before the throttle body is probably disconnected. The "0" in p0112 is generic. See Mazda specific codes below--look at P1112. Locate the sensor by facing engine and find a black box in front of you. The sensor is to the right of the black box and it's the second connector.
