A patriot is someone that stands up for themselves and do what they want to do. But on the other hand, loyalists do whatever the King needs. A good saying is "I believe that an imperfect situation is better than a unknown one." I believe THAT means that if you know someone's going to die, you rather spend all your time with them before they do, but an unknown situation means that they would die unexpectedly.
