On a PC, you press the backspace key.

To delete an incorrect character in a document, simply click next to the incorrect character and then press BACKSPACE to erase to the left of the insertion point. You can also click next to the incorrect character and click DELETE to erase to the right of the insertion point.
The small square and circles around a selected graphic, are called sizing handles. To erase a character to the right of the insertion point, press the delete key.
If you hit the Backspace key, the insertion point will move to the left. If you press the Delete key, the insertion point will stay where it is.
A point of insertion is also called the insertion point. The point of insertion is the place, or point, in a graphics program where the next character that you type will show on the screen. The point is typically shown with a vertical line that is blinking.
The insertion point is directly after the last character you inserted.
If there are characters before it, it will remove the character and go back one space. If there are no other characters, it will stay where it is.
If you hit the Backspace key, the insertion point will move to the left. If you press the Delete key, the insertion point will stay where it is.
If you press the enter key in middle of the paragraph, the data at the right of the insertion point will move to the next line and start the new paragraph
Press the SHIFT key to move the insertion point down a line and return to the left margin.
The "Delete" key will do that.
