Due to some bugs in the Vista Transformation Pack software, some instances of it remain installed even after the removal process. The solution is to uncheck these instances in the startup tab of msconfig. exe.

One can download a Vista transformation pack at many different sites. Some of these sites include: Softonic, Soft32, AfterDawn, AppHit, CNET, Download3k, PCWorld, XMarks, TrickyArea and TechSpot.
Yes.
Most transformation packs for Windows are by third-parties and replace critical system files. So be wary, but some of them are uninstallable. I have installed Windows X's Vista transformation pack before on my Windows XP computer and it worked just fine. I installed the Windows 7 Transformation Pack 3.0 on my Windows XP before and it REALLY slowed it down... But that might have been because I had a partially installed Vista Transformation Pack that couldn't be removed... They have 5.0, which is supposed to be a lot more stable. I would download Tuneup Utilities and Revo Uninstaller before you try it.
Well, if you are able to run the game in the first place before uninstalling that expansion pack means that your computer meets the requirements to play the game. However, uninstalling a expansion pack will reduce the amount of lag.
The problem is linked to filter and codec you have installed on your computer. For anyone that have windows vista premium and use windows DVD maker to burn DVD. This is the exact solution to resolve the problem: The filter and codec I installed on my computer was vista codec pack. Maybe some of you installed the same one. The problem comes from this codec pack. You need to remove that pack in the unistall program section. After this, you install this codec pack that works for me and my father and did not cause the SID problem. Install the K-lite mega codec pack (compatible with vista) that you can found here: http://codecguide.com/download_mega.htm For anyone that have the same problem on other burner software and on windows xp, try to install an another codec but you can choose the same one because this codec is windows xp compatible. Hope you will resolve the problem...
There are several downloads for Vista themes for making Windows XP look like Vista. Some are Vista Skin Pack 5.0, Vista Live Pack, Razor Vista and Vista Inspirat 2. Others are VistaVG Blue Refresh, Royale Vista Hybrid, and DZVista.
There are no further service packs planned for Windows Vista. The last service pack, Service Pack 2, was released on April 28, 2009.

The special effects that Windows Vista uses are the primary reason Vista is considered slower than Windows XP. It is simply not possible to add these effects to XP without experiencing slowdown. In the Related links section below, you will find a download page for the "Vista Transformation Pack", the most popular of the "XP to Vista" themes.
