This question is difficult to answer because time was calculated very differently back then-- there were no 365-day years, for example; and the concept of BC/AD reflects a much later Christian belief that time should be marked by before and after the birth of Jesus (BC=Before Christ; AD=In the Year of Our Lord). But of course, there were thousands of years, months, and days before he was born (and it should be noted that not all cultures use BC or AD, since not all cultures believe Jesus was the Christ). That said, most scholars believe Jesus (or Yeshua Ben Yosef, as he was probably known) was an actual historical person, and he was probably born about 2010 to 2020 years ago. And there is no evidence he was born on December 25; many scholars believe April or August are more likely.
