I have had the same problem with my Montero Sport. I have had it since new in 2002. The answer is after installing a new battery to sit in the parking lot and crank it about 5 times. It will stop doing this after about 5 times. Stinks if you are driving and stopping.
I changed the battery and voila' - no more light.
Me too want to know how!!! I changed battery on my 2001 montero and stunned to see need to enter code on radio in order to work. that is sucks!!!
we just call manufacture and gave em vin numbers they gave us the code
After my 1995 Montero turned 150,000 miles the
i need to know how to set the radio when you battery goes dead and the radio says code its a 2001 mits monyero sports.
Anytime a battery cable is removed from the battery the radio will need to have the clock reset and the radio stations re-programmed. (Helpfull)
One option to reset is to disconnect the positive (+) battery cale on the battery for 3 minutes. Then reconnect it , this will reboot the computer and the light. SORRY: It doesnt work on the Nissan 2003 350z to do this.
Reset a battery? There is no such thing as resetting a battery.
Remove the negative battery terminal (-) for about 15 minutes and most codes will reset.
A battery cannot be 'reset'.
There is no such thing as resetting a battery. You can recharge it but not reset it.
unhook the positive on the battery for 5 min. This should reset your check engine light if it doesnt then you still have issues.
