When the radiator fans dont stop on the 2003-2005 outlanders is because of a faulty fan module that is located on top of the fans. U have to check if ur vehicle is for recall on such part.

They act with the moving air to help it move. They do not act against it. That's not smart. Fans in front of a radiator blow back through it. Fans behind a radiator "pull" air through the radiator. Think this through and it should become clear, it should make sense. It's simple physics.

Hi, There is no radiator fan "sensor" for this vehicle. The fans are controlled by the Powertrain Control Module (PCM). The basic concept is that the PCM uses a temperature sensor to measure the engine coolant and will turn the fans on and off at the appropriate time and speed. There are certain conditions where the radiator fans will turn ON (at high speed) all the time, but that normally only happens when there are other problems in the system. There are a few reasons for the dual fans: Dual cooling fans cause as much or more air to be pulled through the radiator and across the engine, as a larger single fan. The larger single fan would have to be mechanical (powered by the engine), impractical with the sideways engine configuration a front wheel drive vehicle requires. The larger single fan would also be much 'fatter' than the slim design of the dual electric fans. It is much more efficient and easier for the limited electrical supply of a vehicle to power two smaller fans rather than one large one.
