If you want to sanitize a surface, the bleach solution must be 10:1. 10 parts water to one part bleach. Any higher concentrations may actually decrease the sanitizing effects.
A much safer alternative is simple hydrogen peroxide! "Hydrogen peroxide is the only germicidal agent composed only of water and oxygen. Like ozone, it kills disease organisms by oxidation! Hydrogen peroxide is considered the world's safest all natural effective surface sanitizer. It kills microorganisms by oxidizing them, which can be best described as a controlled burning process. When hydrogen peroxide reacts with organic material it breaks down into oxygen and water."

Half and half...equal parts
The ratio of the mix is 4:5.... therefore you would need 12 parts bleach to 15 parts water.
If you want to fade your pants lightly you need very little bleach solution. If using 50 percent bleach you need about a tablespoon of bleach per 2 gallons of water.
Safe for what? Generally 10% bleach or a 1:10 ratio to whatever the amount of water. For a percentage example you would add 3% bleach to a 32 ounce spray bottle, you would add 6% bleach to 64 oz (gallon) of water, etc., for a ratio example you would use a mixture of 1 cup of bleach to 9 cups of water, etc. For human consumption 1 Tablespoon for gallon will purify the water and make it safe to drink.
Im in construction in the southern U.S. mainly Texas and we always have mold problems on fire walls and sheetrock. These ratio's have worked wonders for me and saved my companies thousands of dollars im sure. You can do a 50/50 ratio of bleach and water or for even better results add a little TSP. If you have a big job to do get a 5 gallon bucket fill with 2 gallons water 2 gallons bleach and 2 cups TSP. Furthermore for smaller jobs use 3 cups water 3 cups bleach and 2/3 cup TSP. You can also try a little less bleach in some cases if these ratio's dont work. Thanks, Spencer Stein
10 parts water to 1 part bleach
1 tbs of bleach to 1 gallon of water.
Mixing things in 'parts' is using a ratio when mixing different things together. It depends upon what you are mixing with it. If you are mixing bleach to water at a ratio of 1 part bleach to 3 parts water, you would add a cup of bleach and three cups of water to equal one quart.
The company says your can use a 10% aka 1:9 ratio of bleach to water safely.
