on my 2000 s-type, the drivers door panel is held on by 2 screws located in the interior door pull under the small rubber mat. remove those screws and pry the panel off. pry the panel off from each snap on position, being careful not to damage the snap mounts.

Philip head screws.3. run hand along bottom edge of door panel to ensure no other securing screws. 4. starting at the top rear edge of the door panel side a large flat screw drive/door panel tool(what ever you have) 5. lift sharply and you will here poping noises fromt the push clips lifting out of the socket.6. as you work down the rear edge of the door panel you will see the trim around the interior door handle lift away. remove it.7. the interior door handle will remain on the door. 8. remove the rest of the door panel.

How do you remove window glass on jaguar x type drivers door?
On a left hand side (US Driver's side): 1. Put window down as far as it will go, I am assuming the problem is with the lift unit. 2. Remove the interior panel's three screws. One screw behind handle rail, and two screws at the bottom of the panel. 3. Carefully pry off the panel (try not to break the clips,, but most likely some will break) 4. Remove speaker(s), courtesy light, window control, and mirror control cables from the assemblies in the door panel. This will allow you to get the door panel out of the way. 4. Carefully remove the sound/weather insulation from the door skeleton (good luck!) 5. You will see two columns bolted to the inside of the door skeleton each of these has a tab clipped to the column track. Each of these tabs has a bolt which holds the window. Loosen the bolts and the window will lift away from the tabs. Once the window is separated from the holders, I *THINK* you can just lift the window out of the track rotating the rear of the glass towards the front and outbound from the door, from there the rest of the glass may just lift out without removing any window trim pieces.

BIG JOB! The welds have to be drilled out to remove the original hinges. The door side hinge half can be installed thru the inside of the door by removing the door panel. The post side hinge halfs are very difficult. The entire dash assembly needs to be removed to gain access to the upper hinge half.
