To remove the water pump from a 1987 Chevy Celebrity:
1. Using a suitable container drain the coolant to a point below the water pump.
2. Release the tension on the serpentine belt. Remove the belt from the water pump pulley and position the belt away from the water pump.
3. Using a proper puller remove the pulley from the water pump.
4. Remove the bolts from the water pump. The water pump should pull off at this point
To reinstall a new pump:
1. Clean the old gasket off the water pump mount point.
2. Using a new gasket and any sealer desired bolt the new pump in place.
3. Using the install tool press the pulley on the new pump.
4. Put the serpentine belt back in place.
5. Refill with coolant. Check for leaks

Looking over the right front fender the water pump on a 1987 - 1990 Chevy Celebrity 2.8L v6 is to the right of the power steering pump. There is a cover over the serpentine belt with the belt routing on it. The water pump is below that. Real easy to get to, real easy to change.
