ok remove about 3\4 of the brake fluid....or you'll make a mess( yes i learned this the hard way). raise veh. be shore you chock the front wheels!!! and never put any body part under the car!!!!!safety first. period. mark the wheel relationship to axil flange. remove wheel. replace 2 lug nuts to keep rotor in place(you can remove these if your machining them later.)remove the bolt holding the and washer that attach the parking support bracket to the caliper(unless you are removing the caliper.) do not remove the parking brake lever...its a tough to get back on. do not remove the brake line either. remove the top sleeve bolt and slightly loosen the bottom just enough to pivot the caliper. don't remove the caliper body. remove the pads and clips(2) remember which is top n bottom.

here comes the fun part.....god bless the engineers at gm. you need to bottom the piston. you can do this by using a pair of channel locks twist then squeeze repeat till bottomed. i recommend to rent from a parts store. this will take some ump so don't stress the brake line! lift the inner edge of the boot by the piston and remove any air, the boot must lie flat and payroll to the caliper. the slots on the piston should be flat front to back, ie no anhla the front cant be higher than the rear, and the piston bottomed out before pivoting the caliper over the new pads. now install the clips into the caliper support. IMPORTANT the wear sensor's on the outside shoe. the sensor is positioned at the trailing edge(downward)during forward wheel rotation.install pads into caliper bracket.swing caliper into position. lube the bolt and boot with silicone grease SPARINGLY! install top bolt. tighten to32 ft/lbs or 44 Nm.

remove lug nuts install wheel, ailing the mark previously made to keep relation to wheel hub n bearing. fill master cylinder. pump pedal 3 times to seat pads.
