The Blower Resistor is where the heater hoses are going through the firewall, the way I replaced it was very easy and some say difficult, and don't let mechanics rip you off on this repair ! all i had to do was move the fuel pressure regulator out of the way,didn't have to disconnect it, next, I did have to disconnect one of the heater hoses that was up against the resistor, on the tube end only, not the firewall side, and more the hose out of the way. there is a little bracket holding the tube to the engine block, remove the one nut holding the ground strap then the nut holding the tube bracket. now, remove the two screws holding the resistor in place and shimmy the resistor out of its little home. its really not that difficult. The correct part # for A 2001 marquis is 8W7Z-19E624-A and that's with the ATC. ( air temp control. I really hope this helps. I didn't find anything in-depth as this, so i figured i would share the experience with everyone that needs this info
