Rickets is caused due to deficiency of vitamin D in the body. Vitamin D is required for proper absorption of Calcium in the body and calcium is required for healthy bones.

Sufficient amount of Vitamin D can be obtained by exposure to sun light [especially in the morning].

foods like egg, green leafy vegetables and pulses contain sufficient vitamin D required for our body.
