What is felt roofing?

If Roof decking is wet is it right to install felt?

I have roofed many houses and yes roofed in light rain. The felt will soak up water in the decking and the heat of comp shingles will dry out the felt. It makes for a dangerous job if your on a high pitched roof. When the felt gets wet it will crinkle up and not lay flat which may not be noticed if you have a thick comp shingle (30 year+). I've tried covering the roof to protect from rain with plastic or tarps, but it always seems to be waisted work. Tarps blow off, holes in plastic from laying boards down which causes leaks. I prefer to put my work to get the job completed. I have never hear of mold in decking from roofing in wet conditions. I have removed roofs that had rotten decking due to low pitch and surrounded by trees which did not allow the roof to dry out after rains. The rotten decking was only in certain areas of the roof and only less than 10% of the decking. I wouldn't say the 10% replacement was due to roofing in wet conditions. That is my experiences, hope that helps.

Why are tiles the best use for roofing?

Traditional asphalt shingles are less costly but will eventually wear out depending on how thick they are and the severity of the climate in which they are utilized. Tile roofing materials are constructed of kiln fired clay tiles. They are highly resistant to fire and, short of having some space junk fall on your roof, they are practically indestructible. Though this type of roofing system is more expensive to install, the additional cost will be recovered over the life of the house.

Is toast capitalized when referring to Texas toast?

Not exactly. Even though part of the compound noun is a proper noun, the product known as 'Texas toast' is a common noun as a general word for bread sliced extra thick for toasting. A proper noun is the name of a specific person, place, or thing; such as the noun 'Texas', a specific place. But a slice of Texas toast is a word for any extra thick slice of bread or toast.

How do you make Texas toast?

Texas toast is just thick slices of bread toasted on a grill. You'll need thick sliced bread (which you can buy in most groceries in Texas) or an unsliced loaf that you can slice. Each piece should be about 1 inch thick. Rub butter in a fry pan or on a griddle and place the bread in the butter. When the firs side is browned, rub more butter in the pan and turn the bread. When the second side is browned, it's done. Some people sprinkle garlic powder in the toast.
