It means Supplemental Restraint System....or airbag in common terms. If the light remains on, my guess is that the system no longer works. It would cost about $2K to replace. Those cars are so safe, the seatbelt/shoulder harness should hold you in just fine.
Dashboard lights: The check-engine light glows because of a problem with the EGR valve on cars with the 2.8-liter and 3.2-liter engines http://consumerguideauto.howstuffworks.com/1992-to-1999-mercedes-benz-s-class-6.htm
The SRS (Supplemental Restraint System) has detected a problem. Take the vehicle to a knowledgeable Mercedes mechanic for repair. As long as that SRS light is illuminated the Air Bags will not deploy if needed.

Trade the car in for a Nissan.
You have a problem with the srs (supplemental restraint system) system. Until the problem is fixed the light will remain on. Once the problem is repaired the light will reset itself.
To reset the SRS light in a 2003 C320 Mercedes Benz, unhook the battery. Leave the cables disconnected for around 10 minutes.
my srs light is on and also heater fan hazard switch and al other switches on the centre cancel do not work also is this all linked
To reset the SRS warning light on a Mercedes Vito, an OBD scan tool is necessary. Open the fuse panel and plug the OBD scan tool into the port. Turn the ignition key on and write down the codes shown by the tool. Check these codes in the user manual and have the appropriate repairs made.
The srs light indicates a problem with the airbag system.
Resetting the light will do no good unless the problem is fixed as it will just come back on. Have the problem repaired by a professional and they will reset the light. This is not a DIY repair.
The SRS (Supplemental Restraint System) light is on because the SRS module detected a fault. Until the fault is repaired the light will remain on. Once the repair is correctly done the SRS light will reset itself. As long as the SRS light is on the SRS will not function if you should need it.
You can't. The SRS light is on because the SRS (Supplemental Restraint System) has detected a fault in the system. Until it is fixed the light will remain on and the SRS will not function if needed. Once the necessary repairs are done the SRS system will reset the light itself.
