Say you are adopting a dog from a shelter and they dont know the dog's age for sure How can you tell if it's done growing or how big it will be?

Pups have big feet. Pups also have a puppy nature. They can be clumsy and more playful than other dogs. Pups can have big ears too.
Answer Most shelters will be able to tell you a guess about a dog's age. If they are not sure, don't rely too much on the "big feet/ears" theory: My three month old has small feet and is no where near done growing, and my aunt's shep mix is six and has large ears...plus usually only large breed dogs have big puppy feet! All dogs can be clumsy nd playful, although i agree pups are more so than adults! If you want a pretty good guess on age, have a vet check the dog's teeth if possible. They can tell a pups age pretty good!
