You can get a scar from your pimples from picking on it. You can get pimples from junk food, sweat, and even by staying up too late.
I would not pull of a scab from a pimple, because you can cause scarring, or more break-outs from bacteria. If anything, I would suggest to leave it be, and hopefully it will fully heal.

It's definitely more noticeable if you pop it. It leaves a red scab forever. What you can do, though, is put a little bit of toothpaste on it when you go to bed at night, and it will dry it up. The toothpaste wipes off, and it usually works after two nights of doing that.
Put lotion on you leg (do not rub it in) wrap in plastic wrap and leave over night, take it off and the scab should fall off.

Scabs fall off naturally when fully healed but you can pull a scab off whenever the injury is healed enough not to cause serious damage from removal.
