Some would argue the Catholicism is it's own separate religion. That being said, the Holy Days of Obligation, being set and maintained by the Catholic Church through their system of government, have no affect on Christianity in general. All Christian denominations practice their own holy days based on their interpretation of the Holy Scriptures of God as they see fit to do so through their system of governing. So in short, via a long explanation, we should have a separate understanding of the Universal Christian Church, which do not in general use terms such as 'Holy Days of Obligation', and the Catholic Church. Mass is always required for Catholic Holy Days and is practiced based upon the direction of the ordinances of the Catholic Church's government. Christian holidays are practiced and celebrated as governed by the individual church's, or convention's, or other governing body's leadership. I'm sorry for the long answer, but there are so many variables when looking into the practices of the Universal Christian Church and separately the Catholic Church.
