'England' has nothing to do with Northern Ireland. The full name of the country is The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland. Therefore, Northern Ireland is an integral part of the United Kingdom along with England, Scotland and Wales. The people of Northern Ireland held a referendum to decide if they wanted to remain part of the United Kingdom or become part of the Republic of Ireland. They voted overwhelmingly to remain part of the UK. A minority of people still want to be part of the Republic of Ireland but as a democracy, the will of the majority prevails. Incidentally, Northern Ireland has its own Parliament (Stormont) which is able to legislate on most things except for foreign, monetary and military policy.
No there isn't. Northern Ireland is part of the United Kingdom and will remain like that until the people of Northern Ireland want to change that.
The Loyalists in Northern Ireland are not from England. They are born and live in Ireland. They have a strong affinity with Britain, but they are at home, so they don't have to return to anywhere.
England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland are all part of the same nation state - 'The United Kingdom' - in the same way that California and Texas are part of the United States - so there is nothing to fear from them.
There is no conflict between Northern Ireland and the UK. Northern Ireland is part of the UK. However, a minority of the population of Northern Ireland want to leave the UK and become a part of the Republic of Ireland. There has been a referendum about this in the past and the majority of the Northern Ireland people want to remain in the UK. Democracy won the day.
Northern Ireland has not made any efforts to leave the UK. There are some that want it to happen, but no direct process has been undertaken to try to make it happen.
Scotland is not controlled by England as such. England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland together form what is known as the United Kingdom. No one part owns any of the other parts. It would be a case of Scotland leaving the United Kingdom, not leaving England. As to whether they do that is a decision for the people of Scotland. Some say Scotland should leave the United Kingdom and others say they should not.
No. The six counties of Northern Ireland are a part of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland. The rest of Ireland is a separate, sovereign country called The Republic of Ireland. Britain refers to England, Scotland and Wales, so no part of Ireland is part of Britain.
The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.
Irish nationalism is only within the province of Ulster in Northern Ireland (part of the UK). A minority of the population want to leave the UK and become part of the Republic of Ireland.
If Northern Ireland and the Republic tried to unite, the Unionists in the North would never agree and it would just lead to more fighting. It's best to leave things as they are because now there is peace and the Troubles are over.
Yes - you will need to show it on arrival in Prague and to leave Northern Ireland.
Northern Ireland is a part of Britain/United Kingdom. It is not 'controlled' by Britain any more than England, Scotland or Wales are.In fact, it actually has more right to leave the United Kingdom than any of the other parts (due to the Belfast Agreement).
