Please change the Transmission Fluid to Mobil One Synthetic Automatic Transmission Fluid to prevent wear on clutch pack and wear on valve body. Also Mobil Synthetic Trans Fluid is higly resistant to high temperatures that will cause conventional auto trans fluid to produce varnish and increase wear. I currently have a 1997 Town Car with 148 thousand miles and the original trans is still in the car. Also the car shifts solid and is currently getting me 22-24 MPG at 60-65 MPH on Highway. Please be aware that the new synthetic fluid will last at least 60K miles before need for change. I have noticed that when my trans fluid needs to be replaced it has a sluggish shift between 1st and 2nd gears. After trans fluid change to new synthetic fluid the car immediately shifts well and gets increased mileage. Hope this helps. Jim
